In the late 1800s and early 1900s, many people entertained themselves by performing or having someone else perform chamber music in what would today be known as the "living room." This parlor music frequently consisted of simple, pleasing melodies. Rarely did this parlor music venture into the realm of the more progressive music of the day. One such melody is presented here in THE WOODLAND GLADE. Albert O. Davis has crafted a simple melody that works well as a developmental piece for improving legato playing.
