Description
Calvin College commissioned Mountain Prayers as one of three works to mark the retirement of Dr. Derald DeYoung after his twenty-seven years of conducting ensembles at Calvin. At the request of Dr. DeYoung, an avid climber, each work was to draw its inspiration from a mountain he had ascended. Mountain Prayers is a reflection on Longs Peak, one of the highest of the Rocky Mountains.
