Description
"In this composition for mixed choir based on a text by Friedrich Hölderlin (an author who has inspired me for decades, whom I read again and again, and whose texts form the basis of several of my works, including the 1st String Quartet - Elegy To Diotima, the orchestral piece The Wanderer), I have tried to emphasize the images, moods and formal aspects in a tonal language appropriate to the poem. For example, at the passage "Doch heute la...", where the first-person narrator refers back to the beginning, a kind of recapitulation is built in; the connection between the passages should be made clear to the listener, they should feel it. My aim was also to make this text, which is already so musical on its own, resonate in a way that can touch people in the 21st century."
