Franz Liszt (1811-1886) wrote 19 HUNGARIAN RHAPSODIES for piano as a way to incorporate the music of his youth into his compositions, and HUNGARIAN RHAPSODY No. 1 in F, S.244/14 (also formerly listed as S.359/1) (1846) is among the more well-known of the collection. This arrangement for salon/theater orchestra by Charles J. Roberts was completed in 1915.
