Description
Here is a great showcase filled with panache, splendor and passion! Brilliant upper woodwind flourishes and a fanfare-style theme give this piece its festive characteristics while simple long phrases in the low woodwind and brass sections lay a strong foundation. A soaring second theme is presented with an obbligato, first played by high woodwinds and then by the upper brass. The opening theme then returns and the work builds to a thunderous ending.
