Get to Know Our Summer Piano Workshop Clinicians

Dr. E. L. Lancaster is Executive Editor, Piano for Alfred Music. He is also an adjunct piano faculty member at California State University, Northridge. Dr. Lancaster holds degrees from Murray (KY) State University, the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.

As a composer and author of over 140 publications, Tom Gerou is known for the wide variety of his output. Tom’s piano arrangements have become staples in piano teachers’ libraries. His arrangements can be found throughout Alfred's Basic Piano Library—Greatest Hits, Patriotic Solos, Popular Hits, Praise Hits, and Top Hits.

As a composer, Melody Bober enjoys creating motivational piano pieces that foster her students' understanding and love of music. Melody graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a bachelor's degree in music education. She later received a Master of Arts degree in piano performance from Minnesota State University, Moorhead.

Mike Springer maintains an active schedule as a pianist, teacher, composer/arranger, and adjudicator in the Dallas, TX area. His students have won top prizes in many competitions in the fields of performance and composition. Several of Mikes piano solo compositions have been chosen for the National Federation of Music Clubs. In 2015, three of Mike’s pieces were selected to be part of the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Celebration Series Repertoire Books.

Dr. Gayle Kowalchyk is a member of the keyboard faculty at California State University, Northridge, where she teaches class piano, piano, and piano pedagogy. A graduate of Ohio University (BM), she received the Achievement in Music Award in 2003, presented by the Society of Alumni and Friends and the Ohio University School of Music. She is the co-author of over 300 publications for piano.

Dennis Alexander began his affiliation with Alfred Music in 1986. He has over 400 publications and recordings that have earned him an international reputation as one of the world’s most prolific and popular composers of educational piano music for students at all levels. Dennis taught piano pedagogy at the University of Montana for 24 years, and served on the faculties of Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge.

Wynn-Anne Rossi is a nationally acclaimed composer and dynamic educator whose works have reached audiences internationally. Wynn-Anne has over 100 piano publications. She has lectured throughout the United States and internationally and specializes in composition residencies, sponsored by a variety of professional arts organizations.
