My middle school orchestra teacher was friends with the composer so she reached out to him and he came to our class to help us with the song as we prepped for our competition.

Cello here! My orchestra got to play this on the actual winter solstice for one of our concerts!

I'm so glad this recording exists because I'm playing it in my school and I was suffering with counting in the cello part in the beginning 😭

I'm doing this in my orchestra and even as a violin I agree viola is finally getting justice for melody. 😂

I was going to be playing 1st violin in this song for my school orchestra but because of COVID we couldn't but it was still so much fun playing this piece and shifting into 5th position 🙂

As the only viola in my school orchestra it was honestly one of the hardest and best songs I played in school

I had to play this in 7th grade and it was a bear to play but I absolutely love hearing it now and want to desperately play it in my high school orchestra

I suggested this piece to my high school orchestra (9th grade) for the winter concert. The teacher bought it and we played it. Unfortunately it was a "hot mess" (yes that's what our teacher told us) and I agree. I'm so sad because I love this piece. But he told us that we can try it again our junior year. I'm looking forward to redeeming ourselves.

Have to play the cello part on this for my Christmas orchestra in 8th grade... The second violins have it the easiest. The cello parts have all the deep notes... It is a good song but it is a hard one

As a cellist, I love this song sm especially the way it sounds but also partially hate it bc quite a few people in my orchestra CAN'T COUNT FOR THEIR LIVES and totally screw up the tempo
