Description
Commissioned by the Tucson Music Teachers Association for their 60th Anniversary Piano Ensemble Concert, this duet lives up to its name. Written in C major, the fast 4/4 meter coupled with the repeated blocked and broken chord accompaniment patterns keeps the toccata feel throughout the piece. The composition techniques that are a highlight of Vandall's compositions are found here in abundance---delightful rhythmic vitality contrasted with lyricism.
