My 8th grade year my friend had the sax solo at the start, and he entered late on the day of competition (we got it back together right after tho). He was and still is an amazing saxophonist. Much appreciation to you Michael. (Also the low feature was very fun to play for me (I'm a bari sax))
I loved playing the sax solo at the start last year for UIL, best piece of music I believe I've ever played 🫶🏼
Played this piece for district some time ago. Genuinely one of the most insane pieces I've ever played. I was on oboe for this!
Love doing the clapping omg
I'm in 8th grade playing this with all of my friends in band and we all get some really cool parts like how one of us has the sax solo. I play the trumpet and my friends play altos, tenors, bari saxes, contrabass clarinet, bass clarinet, tubas, flutes, clarinets, and trombone.
I played 1st trumpet on this. Barn Dance was so fun. When our directors were absent, half of us would gather in a spot in the room and the substitute would record us playing that. He'd send it to our directors.
I remember playing with this recording just for fun. It was always one of my favorites to play with years ago. Now, my community band is playing it this quarter. And I couldn't be happier! When I hear the alto sax solo, I am taken back to memory lane. And the second movement is just so much fun to play! I get the tune stuck in my head every time. Brant, thank you for this lovely masterpiece!
Just played this at my last high school concert. 1st trumpet 🎺😔
My school's band is playing this for a concert soon, and it's a really fun piece! I play 3rd Bb clarinet, but hearing the bass clarinet part in John Riley/Wayfaring Stranger is making me wish I'd switched instruments lol
Played this on euph for district band a few years back lowkey a tough song🔥
