Description
A fanfare, based on triads moving in parallel motion, opens this outstanding number for the young symphonic band. The principal melody is then played in the upper voices, supported by smooth triadic harmonies in the lower instruments. Other special features include a change of tempo and key, accompanied by a lyrical melody with flowing counterlines, then a restatement of the opening theme, leading to a coda that finishes the work in climatic fashion. (Grade 2)
