My son's high school band played this arrangement for their Christmas concert and killed it! Of course there were some technical parts that were rearranged, but the kid on the drums killed it!!! Even the solo at the end. I wish I could post it so you all could see.
James - articulations and dynamics really flow well, lots of accents and staccato.
Claire: The drum intro was nice and very in keeping with the style of the song. The trumpet solo solid and has some nice phrasing. The whole song is very tight with the articulation and attacks and finishes. We can definitely work on making our sound be more together by focusing on these details.
Logan: Good dynamics with the trombone mutes, overall we had good articulation and dynamics.
Alice Zhang - Great drum solos and fillings. Great articulation within the whole band. It's really well done and epic. This is such a fun song.
Keller - Their dynamics were really good. Tone was great. The bridge was great with notes and runs and was together. Balance was just right. Drums sounded really good going between the swing feel and the solos. Overall, this was such a cool take on Little Drummer Boy. Awesome piece!
Kaitlyn - I really liked the drums in the beginning, setting the style and keeping the tempo very nicely even with harder rhythms. The tone was great as well as the balance, dynamics, and articulation. Overall, such a fun song to listen to and a great interpretation of the Little Drummer Boy.
Incredible articulation - very sharp, together, and even throughout the whole piece. The tone and balance was spot on, and the dynamics were effective. I would have liked to have heard more from the drums particularly at the end.
Joseph - The band had good articulation and dynamics. The drum solos were good and I will try to draw ideas from the solos in this recording. When the band is playing, this drummer just plays on the toms but I think there should be a stronger beat at those parts. The solo at the end was good and I want to draw some ideas from that but I also want to see what else I can come up with.
