Description
2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the Christmas Truce of 1914, where opposing soldiers engaged in World War I combat laid down their arms and celebrated the Christmas holiday together. Combining fragments of Gustav Holst's "Mars, the Bringer of War" from The Planets with the beautiful carol "Silent Night" this musical study of dramatic contrasts, combined with the engaging story is sure to provide an awe-inspiring performance. This was the last piece I got to play with my now deceased band teacher in front of an audience, and hearing it makes me remember the good times and jokes we had with him.

I played this for my winter concert. The only thing I dislike about this as a flute player is the 32 MEASURES OF REST.

I played this at my winter concert too, and it was amazing. Most people in the audience and a lot of the band members were crying by the end of it.

My band is playing this in one of our concerts for school this year, and I'm the only trombone player. I love this song too—it's great.
