Description
Now on DVD, Terry Bozzio's Melodic Drumming and the Ostinato is a three-volume instructional video packed with groundbreaking performances, hundreds of demonstrations and examples, simple breakdowns, clear explanations of radical techniques, and thought-provoking inspiration and philosophy.
In this course, Terry explains his approach to the drumset as an orchestra within itself, delving into self-accompaniment with ostinato patterns. He also demonstrates how to apply melodic, harmonic, and even two-part contrapuntal techniques to the kit.
Many musical examples written by Terry himself are contained in the informative booklets accompanying the videos. Each video stands on its own, but they work together as a progressive course as well.
