Real reactions from the players, directors & students who love Symphonic Dance No. 3 ("Fiesta").
We played this in high school in 1991. This was a grade 5 piece (college level). We killed it at festival. So much fun playing this piece.
This takes me back to high school, man. 1st chair trombonist and sight-reading this was fun as hell. It's a really fun song to play.
Man, the 5/4 always messes me up but I love playing this song as a first clarinet so much ❤
Played this in the top band as first chair sax my freshman year of high school. The part at letter L is so fun to play expressively. My director would always stare into my soul at that part and mouth 'not too loud'. Time for state evaluation came, I played it as jazzy as I could and on the judge tapes they sent us, almost all of them said something along the lines of 'saxes sound like they're enjoying themselves'. One of the most fun pieces I've played in my career.
One of my favorite pieces in tuba from high school. I didn't really appreciate that 5/4 bass groove until after I graduated over a year ago. It's unironically so good.
First chair horn player here. Playing this for our UIL program and it's a banger 😮
I'm in college playing this song rn and the f horn part is golden 😌♥️
This was so fun as an oboe :) My middle school band is playing it this year for UIL comp.
Played this last year as a college freshman. Go GCC Gauchos! 🤠 🐍
1995 Kennewick HS wind ensemble played this for a CD recording. Shows my age I guess.
Band just played this and got gold at ISSMA. I was on timpani 💪
