Description
Looking for a piece that's fun to play but still educationally sound? Try Sword Dance on your next concert. Students will love this high-energy tune from the Renaissance era. The piece starts with a presentation of the tune in the low strings that continues in the violins. It is then played antiphonally, followed by a pizzicato variation that concludes in an exuberant, fast-paced ending. Correlated with String Explorer, Book 1, Unit 12. This title is available in MakeMusic Cloud.

I'm a 6th grader and I'm playing Dragon Slayer, Sword Dance, and Aboriginal Rituals. Pretty easy for the first 2 but the 3rd is playing with all middle school and 5th grade.

I had a nightmare with this song because I'm super good and apparently I was 2nd violin, and the 1st violin SUCKED BALLS, he couldn't bounce, slur, or anything!!! He even played 2nd violin's part for half of the song!!!!! It was a nightmare!! But the 8th grades said that they were confused why I wasn't first. (I was in sixth grade at the time so that felt great)
