I've always admired Richard Meyer and I love his music for actually making the bass a part of it instead of just being a lower cello. As a double bassist myself, I always love seeing basses getting melodies and not being overlooked as much. Good piece!
Cello Squadron for the cello player, Subterranean Dialogues for the bass player. Richard Meyer knows equality for the clefs.
As a bass player, Jesus Christ, the sixteenth notes gave me a heart attack...
Trying to learn measure 52-64 for all county auditions (viola) 😭 WHY IS IT SO FAST?? WHAT— Y'all, I GOT IN!! This has to be my fav song we're playing
Playing this for freshman varsity orchestra 🔥
One thing I love about Richard Meyer pieces is that he makes 3/4 not a waltz. Examples include Incantations, Emerald Falcon, and this piece as well. I have a bad habit of making waltz when I compose in 3/4, so I admire him for that. 😅
We are playing this for our concert and I'm a bass 😂
I've been given a month to learn this as a viola. I'm going to cry 😭
Played this at my last concert before having to stop playing violin, sigh
