Description
In the spirit of multicultural awareness, SONG OF KRISHNA employs the Bhairave scale of North India, on which many ragas are based. Krishna is a Hindu deity who is associated with music and the arts in general. The work uses an Indian percussion instrument, the tabla (small drums may be substituted), and allows for tasteful improvisation using rhythmic figures notated in patterns.
