Description
Scenes From Childhood, Op. 15 (Kinderszenen): Nos. 7 "Träumerei" and 8 "Am Camin," orchestrated by Theodore Moses Tobani originate from Robert Schumann's (1810-1856) beloved piano cycle composed in 1838, a collection of poetic miniatures that evoke childhood not through literal depiction but through the nostalgic imagination of an adult. Among its most famous movements, "Träumerei" offers a tender reverie of inward simplicity, while "Am Camin" ("By the Fireside") suggests warmth and intimate domestic calm. Theodore Moses Tobani (1855-1933), an American conductor and arranger active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, later orchestrated selections from Kinderszenen to bring Schumann's music into the orchestral salon tradition. Today orchestrated versions such at this occupy a niche place in the repertoire, with "Träumerei" in particular remaining a cherished concert encore. Instrumentation: 1.1.2.1: 2.0+2(Crnt).1.0: Str (9.8.7.6.5 in set): CS (Pno-Cond) in set. Reprint edition.
