My high school band took this to state, I remember loving this song. We didn't have enough percussionists to play this song, so I had to play bass and suspended cymbal at the same time, and switch to slapstick. Overall it was a fun experience
This song was rearranged and it became the closer to my school's marching show this year!
amazing piece, my band took it from Australia to Hawaii and played it for months
I played this piece my freshman year on 3rd clarinet for symphonic band and we played it at full tempo. Now I'm a junior and the symphonic band can't play full tempo :(. I still am going to play 3rd clarinet for it cuz this is such a cool arrangement.
This was arranged to be my marching show last year and it was so much fun.
We played this last year but now we play grade 5 and up. This song sounds and looks easy which happens when you get a grade level above.
Looked at my band and sobbed anyways best mallet percussion part ever and best bass clarinet part - (mallet percussionist and bass clarinetist)
I played this in concert band and remember one of the keyboard/xylophone players actually fainting when we got our music
Our marching show included part of this in it as the majority of its opener. It's very fun but a bit low difficulty for grade 4 in my opinion, but I do live in Texas so I don't really know about the rest of the country.
We played this last year and one of our flutes just passed out on the spot
sight read this in concert band today. it went a lot better than i thought it would.
