During the 21-minute string quintet prohibido ("prohibited" in Spanish) by Orlando Jacinto García, the performers whisper words and phrases in English and Spanish, highlighting current and past repression of humanity for race, religion, and more "in the service of power." The subtitle's "imaginary ballet" refers to the premiere of the orchestral prohibido (winner of the 2022 Walter Hinrichsen Award) by dancers from the Miami City Ballet with strings of the New World Symphony in January 2025.
