Written during his extensive concert tours, the piece showcases Gottschalk's flair for brilliant, audience-pleasing piano music, characterized by sparkling passagework, syncopated rhythms, and light, playful character suggested by the title "Pasquinade," referring to a satirical or witty expression. This orchestration was completed by Thomas H. Rollinson. Instrumentation: 1.1.2.1: 2.2(Crnt).1.0: Perc(2): Str (9.8.7.6.5 in set): CS (Pno-Cond) in set. Reprint edition.
