My high school band played this for competition probably 12 years ago now. We received a superior. Those of us in the trombone section thoroughly enjoyed this one.
as the xylophonist who has to play every lick, i can confirm this was my favorite song this year
Wow! The last 15 measures or so are somewhat difficult. It's good for counting and staying on top of the beat and knowing when to come in.
I'm really sad, we played this for contests at my school and we got a superior rating and now for states we are dropping this song for another. This was my fave out of the three! :(
We played this in 2020 freshman year when COVID happened. I wish we could've taken it to comps 🥲 instead we played in the gym 😭😭
My band played this last year in symphonic band. I was a freshman, needless to say it took me a while to hit the high notes on alto sax.
I played this in school and the trumpet/cornet part almost killed me. It's insane.
Played this my junior year as Trombone 1 and it's probably still my favorite piece I've ever played. Just so much fun!
I'm 1st trumpet for this, and my chops give out by the time we get to letter Y in the music (aka the beginning of the high notes for trumpet 1).
