Description
In 1873, Peter Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) composed SIX PIECES, Op. 19 for piano. By far, the most popular of the six works No. 4, NOCTURNE. It has been transcribed for various instruments, with cello arguably the most popular. Tchaikovsky orchestrated the NOCTURNE for a Châtelet performance in Paris on March 4, 1888, by the Colonne Orchestra, with Anatoly Brandukov on cello and the composer conducting. Tchaikovsky used this transcription for cello and piano by Wilhelm Fitzenhagen as the basis for his orchestration. Reprint edition of the Fitzenhagen transcription. Reprint edition.
