I remember playing this my sophomore year, it's been stuck in my head ever since and I've finally found it!

Everyone knows it's not a Todd Stalter piece unless you go over 150 bpm at some point, so that beginning was unexpected but beautiful.

I love this piece so much. My band director's wife (also a band director to our jr. high) has talked about this piece. She said she went to school with the kid this song was "made" for. I don't know what it is, but as a first horn player, I try to put as much emotion as I can into this piece. Losing people isn't easy. I don't play for the child I don't know, I play for those who are hurting and have actually lost themselves. I know a few. This piece is miraculous and it's amazing.
