God. I loved playing this song. I was one of two horns, but together we outplayed the entire trumpet section. This was so much fun to play, and it really gave me and my friend a chance to really show what we could do.
God, the bass clarinet part for this is easily, no question, the most fun part I have ever played, period. So flowing and lyrical, love it.
Truly a French horn moment. As a French horn player, I cried when I saw how good the part was.
Freshman year, horn. Best song I've ever played in a concert band.
5 rotor French horn here, and lemme tell ya, this was an experience to play. Never before had I fallen in love with a musical arrangement so fast.
I played this my sophomore year! Where are my shakers at?
Playing this in band right now. I'm a freshman trombone. I love this piece so much.
Everyone is saying the horn part is so fun and I can totally agree because the alto sax part doubles it the entire time. One of my favorite pieces, btw.
Played this song in concert band 5 or 6 years ago. Afterwards, the rest of my time in band I would get a random string of notes stuck in my head. For no real reason, I decided to look this song up today. It was in this song all along...
Played this senior year. Tenor sax, and it is one of, if not my favorite piece I've ever played. So many moving parts makes it so beautiful, especially in horns, euphs, and low reeds.
Genuinely the most fun bass clarinet part I've ever played.
The bari sax part in this song is by far my absolute favorite thing I have ever played.
7th grade year, was oboe at private school, this piece was the only reason I didn't quit band.
The Bassoon part is absolutely amazing and I loved playing it at my All-County.
Played this GMEA district honor band 2019!!! Loved it.
About 5 days ago I played this at my winter concert as horn 1. I'm a senior in high school and I think this is possibly the greatest piece I have played on horn and I'm going to play this more in the future.
Absolutely love my euphonium part. Up through middle school, we're treated like a third trombone. It's definitely a huge skill gap and I'm having to practice much more, but I'm more than happy to have such a cool part. It's fun to double the horn, have melodies, and some bass.
Playing this on Euphonium right now! It's a very difficult piece for our middle/high school band, most of our band members are 8th and 9th graders, but it's exciting for sure!! Since we have a large age range we usually play easier music, but this is so good!!
This is my first solo as an oboist! Love the piece.
Can confirm that timpani is ridiculously fun to play on this piece.
I played this in all district last year on piccolo and it's sooooo beautiful.
Played this last year on tenor, absolutely loved it!! Now playing it again but on bari, and now I'm not too sure about it 😂
