Real reactions from the players, directors & students who love J. S. Jig.
Lemme set the scene here folks. District band 2019. 6 out of 8 of us percussionists showed (the two guys missed for a good reason). We get to this song, and all of the perc parts were covered by ONE person. Including mallets. If the other two guys were there this song would have been a breeze. But since this is not the case, this is probably one of the more difficult songs I've had to do. End of story, have a good day.
I love playing the French horn part. The sustain is god-like, can't get enough.
I'm just excited that the bass clarinet part doesn't look so boring💀
This song is amazing if you stay in tempo and especially if percussion 3 isn't run by 1 guy AKA me.
Percussion gang. I remember playing every percussion instrument except xylophone in this one. And you better believe my whistling was pitch perfect.
Every single time my band director said take out J.S. Jig I would always say ITSSSSS JIGGIN TIMEEEEEE loved playing this piece I was on the tuba and bassoon solo as a bari.
Revisiting this from JanFest 2018 at UGA. It was an amazing song, the whistling was great and our conductor Andrea Brown was just amazing too. Made it fun and the flute part was cool and the trombones were so amazing I lived for this piece.
Playing this for UIL soon, and as an 8th grade Bari Sax player, getting a part that's actually fun is a nice surprise.
Bro I am playing this for UIL 😭🙏🔥🗣️ (1st part clarinet) (update) it's 2025 and that mini solo had me SCARED. I quit band but it was fun 😛
We played this for UIL and we got sweepstakes! (1)
Playing this for middle school and I literally love trombone 3 because of all the E flats for some reason lol.
Played this for all district in Feb 2020, the piccolo part is so beautiful.
