Into the Storm: Full Orchestra Conductor Score & Parts

I'm a bass clarinetist and my band director chose this piece! Freaking excited, bass clarinet actually has something other than the typical quarter note bass line! I'll be noticed!

This was one of the songs from my most recent (and last) concert. Yeah, us in the flute section died. Half way through, we just started to fade off one by one. It's survival of the flutist

This takes me back. I played flute in middle school and this was so fun and energizing to play. The flutes rocked the house with all that speed and intensity.

I am honored to be able to say I played this piece of art my freshman year. It was one of the best pieces I've played and truly helped me get out of a slump I was in, but also sparked my love for band again.

My school's intermediate band did this, they made it feel more like a thunderstorm rather than a blizzard. It was purposeful and cool.

My high school's mascot is the storm, so we play this every year at graduation and it's great GO STORM!!!! Update: I heard it a few hours ago at graduation, beautiful as ever!

I played cymbals for this back in high school. I remember getting carried away with the crash-chokes and getting the attention of the band room. I miss those days, hopefully someday I'll play percussion. But for now, it's chasing storms occasionally to this tune. For any that come and go, stay safe out there!

RIP Robert W Smith, your scores got me into liking concert band starting in high school, this song got me into band because of the time changes, dynamics, and emotions and I never got to experience that in middle school. Thank you so much for this beautiful and striking song and Into the Storm made me a better timpani player than I was in middle school because yet again with the dynamics it really helped me understand emotion through music. I played the timpani for this piece in 7th grade and the ending was super fun to play. We never got to perform it because of the pandemic, but probably my favorite music piece to this day.

Played this freshman year, then we got a new band director. I'm a junior and he wants us to play it again next year and I'm pumped! One of my favorite pieces!

Had my students play the Tempest last year. I'm gonna order this piece and put it in front of them this year and watch their jaws drop as they at first complain about how hard it is and then watch them love it by the end of the semester. All I am saying is that I wish there was music like this when I was in middle school...

I am a senior in high school and for my freshman year our marching UIL show was named "Into The Storm"...... it pretty much consisted of what this is and we got a superior rating of straight 1's from judges..... hearing this is taking me back and reminding me of how that show was the best one I've ever marched🥺👍🏽❤️

It's my favorite song by Robert W. Smith by far, it's such a precious song to me in so many complicated ways. I was first flute in middle school when I played this song, I absolutely loved how fast and soothingly repetitive the flute part is.

I played this piece during festival and as a flute/piccolo player, all I can say is I was out of breath for most of this

This is going to be one of my high school's marching tunes and it sounds great! I'm excited but also a bit jealous. I'm a flute player but I chose to do guard and I'm sad I can't play this with them ;-; (sadly we only have two flutes who can both play piccolo this year so it's going to be a struggle haha)

My band was going to play this at our spring concert this year but sadly it never happened. I played bass drum on this and it was a little hard to get the rhythms right at first but once I did it was so fun. Especially the last couple of lines in the song where the bass drum and the tom drums go back and forth

My university played this with Joplin High School after the tornado. I cry every time just because of the sentimental feeling.

Dude we're playing this in our band this year, and I'm honestly enjoying it. I'm a flute so I kinda start crapping out after the first 50 measures, but afterwards it starts getting pretty easy. Still practicing but getting the hang of it
