Description
Ferenc (Ferenz) Nagy composed Hungarian Village during the early twentieth century as a picturesque orchestral work inspired by the melodies, dances, and pastoral atmosphere of rural Hungary. Like many light concert works of its era, the composition reflects the widespread European fascination with national folk traditions that flourished in the decades following the success of composers such as Johannes Brahms, Zoltán Kodály, and Béla Bartók.
