Description
Probably the best known of the 21 'Dances' by Brahms, HUNGARIAN DANCE No. 5 was originally written as a piano duet, using melodic and rhythmic material borrowed from Hungarian Gypsy bands. The drive and excitement of the ethnic elements have transferred beautifully to the concert band idiom. Lots of flash, lots of sparkle . . . and the audience will recognize the theme! (duration 2:23)
