Description
This series of aural-visual exercises is designed to improve ear training and music reading skills. Find That Tune shows three melody lines from familiar music and plays one of the excerpts for the user to correctly identify. In Ear Training Skills the user must identify and notate intervals or simple melodies produced by the computer. The Beginning Level of Melodic Dictation allows the user to complete portions of familiar melodies by filling in the missing notes. The Intermediate Level of this program presents more complex melodies for the user to complete. In Descending/Ascending Intervals the user identifies and notates intervals played by the computer. All programs have varying difficulty levels and retain student records for the instructor. The Keyboard Melody Task Cards are designed to teach music reading by numbers in order to learn interval relationship and correlate sight and sound with careful attention to melodic contour. The Keyboard Rhythm Task cards are designed to teach counting of rhythm by answering questions on a worksheet and playing the melodies on the cards. The Teacher's Manual covers implementation of the task cards and integration with classroom lessons.
