Greensleeves: 1st Trombone

Kaitlyn - The balance and blend of all of the instruments as a whole was very well done. I agree with Keller on dynamics, playing softer, and adding more of a contrast when building it back up again. I think that the articulation is also very well done, and super important for the feel of the song, and I want to incorporate that into my playing as well. The ending was well done, but I think it needed more energy building up to the end, and dynamics would help with that.

Jacob Robblee, Trumpets did a great job with dynamics - we usually play this a lot louder, and this is a little more chill and cool. But as I keep listening to it, it seems to be the same dynamic the whole way through, not a ton of variation. Tone was great, articulation on point, and a very chill swing feel.

Carrie - Their articulation was really strong - the band was very together, and the longer notes were shaped well. The tempo was steady as well. However they played at roughly the same volume throughout the song - it lacked dynamic interest, and so fell a little flat, though the playing was high quality. I want to incorporate the same sort of togetherness with the rest of the rhythm section when we play the song.

Alice - The balance is really well. Different instruments get to blend in the song. I should add contrast and more dynamics to my playing. Great saxophone playing. The whole song is really smooth and relaxing.

Keith - Greensleeves is a slower song, so intonation and tempo will be more difficult. I like how trombone has a background melody in certain spots.

James - The releases are together, and it makes it cleaner and gives it drive. The trombone counter melody is almost as loud as the melody until the sax solo.

Keller - The band was really together. It sounded really good intonation and tone wise. Their sax and trumpet blend was some of the best I have heard. I think some more dynamic contrast in the ensemble sections would do the piece wonders. The solo was interesting as he went on to lead in the melody afterwards. I would like to incorporate the smooth blend into my playing. Overall, it was a good performance. Could use some energy at the coda to make a big finish.

Joseph - The band had very good balance and articulation, but more dynamic contrast would create more energy. The drummer blended very well with the rest of the band, which I want to work on. The drum part at the choruses is also something I'd like to draw from when I play this song.
