This work opens with a fanfare played by full ensemble and moves to a melodic promenade and a repeat of the fanfare. A lyrical march melody is introduced with canonic imitation. After a slow interlude, the fanfare and promenade are heard again prior to the majestic conclusion. A highly recommended contest/concert work.
