No one will truly understand what the flutes went through to keep the song on point.
I feel like I'm the only percussionist that really liked playing this song.
Trumpet player here, I love this song so much and I'm playing it for my school's music festival (March is Music in Our Schools Month) on March 27. It is relatively easy for me, but I wonder how the flutes feel...
This song was pretty fun to play during music in the parks. This is coming from a percussionist who's actually a fluteist* edit I'm now on bass clarinet* feels weird returning as a freshman a few years later and listening to it
Last summer, only 4 months ago, I played this song at an event for middle school, seven star honor band in Florida, my director was Larry Clark himself. We played multiple songs, this was one, Quintus was another one which we played there, he's a great conductor director and songwriter. I've loved all the pieces I've played that he has made so far.
I was so mad when it didn't have a tenor sax part, but I got to play the trumpet part instead, and I love it
I am a trombone player yesterday my school did a concert with this song in it, it's so cool to listen to so here I am. I am a beginner on the trombone so I am in the 7th grade and the song is a high school song. My school also has a tradition of playing The Great Locomotive Chase.
Easiest thing to learn after I was taught the correct finger placements on flute lol. I struggled a lot more in high school because I was never able to read music
Ahhh I just performed this like a week ago and let me tell you I am happy that it's over but it is a really good song tho (also I am a flute)
I'm actually playing this song for Full Orchestra UIL right now, and the cello part is SO EASY. I can tell the flutes and violin 1s are not having a great time though 😅 Also, the piece sounds super good! Love it!
I'm still traumatized from measure 47 (I'm at tpt)
Dude I'm in grade 7 right now and the saxophones (which is what I am) have it easy but play a massive role in the atmosphere of this song
OMG I'm in 7th grade and in band with 8th graders because they put us together in a band class and our band teacher is making us play this, cyclone and crosswinds march at Carowinds and at our spring concert
I had to buy new drumsticks after I played this at a concert because we didn't have a brake drum so I had to play it on the rim of a snare drum
Man this song is annoying to play, I'm starting to feel how the percussion feels. -A bassoonist update we're playing this for our spring concert lmaooo
