Dragonhunter: 2nd Violin

I swear, when the basses and cellos play the main part a measure before the rest of the orchestra, it makes you feel like you're leading the charge

We played this piece in 6th grade and now it's a tradition in our orchestra because we loved it so much! Every year the beginning class plays this piece for the spring concert.

Man I remember playing this and I played the cello I swear I put so much motion and expression into this song when I played it.. I broke like 4 bow strings 😂😭

We played this and now everyone can't stop playing haha! Every time we got free time the violas, violins, and cellos group up to play this!

When I was a child I learned this song in orchestra class. I played cello this song still sits within me to this day.

I can't believe that nearly 16 years after I first learned this in elementary school orchestra, I still remember the tune and the name just popped into my head. I wish my teacher had been nicer to us in middle school. I might still be playing.

Bro when I played this song in 6th grade I had so much fun playing this song. Every time I see this video pop up it makes me smile.

What I love about this piece is how powerful it sounds while still being a grade 1.

I'm a viola and this is an incredible piece. It is so pretty, and we're going to play it with all orchestra students in my grade throughout the district later this month. Sounds a lot harder than it is; but I would believe you if you told me it was hard for cellos and violins.

I'm playing this now! My middle school does this for every orchestra year and it's so easy and fast to learn, and never gets old! ❤️❤️❤️

I play viola. We only have one bass in our class, and I guess it's every other day because he's also the only trumpet in band (which I'm also in). We're learning to play this song for I think the spring concert, and I'm in seventh grade. A lot of comments say they were in 6th or 5th grade, but I'm in seventh. This is such a cool piece!!

I played this song at String Fling at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS when I was in 6th grade. I then played this song in my 7th grade orchestra. Now, I'm in 8th grade and our teacher told us to pick our most nostalgic piece and we all picked Dragonhunter. Best song we've ever played!! (I play the cello)

This was my first Richard Meyer piece as a viola and it was amazing! So far, I've played the following songs made by him in order: Dragonhunter, Ninja Starfleet, Terra Nova (which is by far the BEST!!!)

We played this today for our final concert of the year! It was so fun compared to the first piece we had, it 100% has its own place in my heart!!

I remember playing this when I was about 14 or 15 in middle school, 8th grade. I was upright bass. Fast forward 10 years, I'm gonna be 25 and I miss playing an upright so much.

I remember thinking the plucking bit was such a banger (still is) BUT THEN MY TEACHER CUT IT OUT AT THE CONCERT still angry about that till this day.
