Ah, this brings back so many memories when we played this in our orchestra class. When we played it at our concert, it was truly the day of wrath. Jokes aside, good composition!
I remember getting the 2nd violin part thinking the 1st violin part was going to be harder than 2nds because, y'know, that's how it always is. But bro, 1st violins had it easy this time around.
What an absolutely epic piece! A great arrangement too. Definitely quite the challenge with the technique, but oh my gosh it's so much fun to play, even from a violist's perspective. Our orchestra did the first two movements of the Holberg Suite by Grieg for string orchestra, so fast notes and runs aren't too unfamiliar, but man can they be tough with coordination!
