My teacher held literal screaming auditions and we all had to vote on who had the best scream
My orchestra teacher had us listen to this song in class. Afterwards she just said, "Don't worry, we'll do the scream better." She motioned at a girl and this gal just screams a loud, ear-murdering scream. It was great and 100% gonna terrify people in the audience when we play it.
I'm playing this song rn and we play it a little faster. And our conductor was like "either y'all are gonna actually scream like you're scared or not at all"
This is the most unique piece I ever had the privilege to play. The glissandos, bowing between tailpiece and string, etc. etc. It's so fun!
We played this for our spring concert last year and it was my last ever concert for orchestra because I was a graduating senior. When we first started practicing this in class, nobody wanted to volunteer to do the scream so I volunteered to do it and safe to say my scream made everyone jump in the auditorium that night. It was one of my favorite pieces to play in my orchestra class and I will always cherish the memories I have with my class.
My class played this music and had a screaming audition for the person to scream in concert. When we played this in concert, all people except our orchestra were surprised so hard 😊 ps. I had to try not to laugh during the song lol
Imagine being so excited because your teacher told you you have a solo for it just to have it be me screaming really loud. Loved it tho
I started high school, and this is one of the pieces we're playing. I'm first violin, and it's so fun.
The 7th graders at my middle school played this when I was a 5th grader at the mixed concert for the 5th and middle school and the screams jumpscared all of us students, family, and friends because it wasn't a beautiful scream like in here but a scared-for-life scream and my friends and I were so excited to play it and jumpscare the guests but I moved schools 😭
No one could scream like her so my teacher said to freestyle it so we all did voice cracks while violently slapping our throats
I get to play this on Halloween during class every year in my orchestra and it's fun
We played this our 7-8th grade year? I was going to be the screamer. I thought it was kind of amusing because I was the only cello to try out. Unfortunately that concert got cancelled because of the snow and for the next four years the spring concerts sucker punched me in the gut because I was always under the impression we didn't have one lol.
We had screaming auditions and I got them and apparently I hurt people's ears and I scared people during the concert. It was very therapeutic.
We played this for our Christmas tour for fun in 2024 and we did death-like screams in front of elementary students
my teacher added a scream during that last build up and she had someone go into the balcony to do it and it scared everyone in the entire auditorium
I'm playing this and it's very entertaining (Edit) I'm a cello and I absolutely adore the second page of this song Another edit after I'm no longer in middle school: I was unfortunate enough to be one of the people right in front of the closest screamer. Almost jumped out of my seat during rehearsal Another edit, almost out of high school: I've been playing cello for 7 years, do what you love
we're doing this right now and the director said we won't practice the scream in class because he doesn't want other teachers to worry
My orchestra teacher hired the drama teacher for the screams and is gonna have her teach us how to scream
I'm a cello playing the viola part and we got put with some diabolical parts...
We just played this piece for fun today and I love it so much 😂 I want to scream especially as my finger burns on the E string gliss I play bass
In my class we groaned like zombies
I love this piece but the glissandos are killing my fingers 😭
As a cellist I'm being honest this song was my favorite. It was fun and just felt very nice and a little spooky. By experience I'd recommend playing a bit faster than this.
i remember playing this in October! my parents were near me and i got the second scream. i made my stand partner almost jump out of her seat and it hurt my family's ears! 😂 (they were right next to me since there wasn't any more room for them to sit at) i got the violin 2 part, very fun to do. and if y'all put the speed at 1.25 it's literally the speed everyone plays it at. That's how fast we played it!
We had screaming auditions and my teacher did not warn anyone that we'd be doing that so someone called the cops because they thought there was a shooting or something
We're playing this in my orchestra :D it's pretty fun, but then the teacher gave me the scream solo part ;-; lol, i kinda just melt in my chair and try to scream a good scream, help
