I'm in 7th grade and I play the violin 1 part in this. All I have to say is ever since my orchestra got this piece, we fell in love with it. Every Friday we do requests and this is probably one of the most requested pieces. We're planning on playing this at a contest as well as Finale and A Soldier's Hymn. Can't wait for everyone to hear this piece because it's beautiful
In my school I'm a cello player and I loved this piece when I tried it in my school, it was sooo good I demanded my parents to bring their whole army of friends to see. For context my parents LOVED showing off and I'm not a fan of that but this is the only moment I am letting my parents to bring the whole army if they can hahahah
Back in 2017 I used to play this at my concert in 8th grade as a viola player... memories of playing such a beautiful piece 😢❤
I'm in 7th grade and I play the bass and we just played this piece for a concert and I loved it!! It was so fun to play
I played this back in eighth grade (I'm a junior now... how time flies) and I can still play it through completely. Good times.
My class is currently learning this song and we're going to perform it in a concert next week. This song is amazing!!
I loved playing this song in middle school!! I distinctly remember learning the first violin part, only to be switched to second violin right before the concert… I worked SO hard and pulled it off!! Then I got sick and missed it all together 😅😅
I play in 2 orchestras, Varsity as a violin, and non-varsity as a cello, and we are playing this for non-varsity, and all I can say is that we can play it, except our inner voices can't seem to get their fingers in tune at 54 and it is slowing us down, and we have a concert in a week. Plz pray for us 🙏
I was a 1st violin for the varsity orchestra in my junior high, and I had a free period, so I got 2 orchestra classes, and got to play cello too for the non-varsity group, and we played this, and I had just joined in the middle of the year, and I thought I was cooked, but I managed to learn bass clef after being used to treble, and managed to make it from last chair to first, and that has been one of my biggest accomplishments, and I'm thankful for my directors who let me do all of that.
Played this as a 7th grader, thought it was insanely hard but loved it, 2 years later I look at this and sightread it better than we played it at our concert (naturally we nicknamed it kan kissed a door)
Playing this song for my concert! I'm violin 2 and I'm legit failing so bad on the song rn 😭😭
I played this song for my 8th grade district orchestra festival, it will always be one of my favorites :)
This song was amazing, violin 2 and I like how the song starts mysteriously-ish and then boom! Everybody is playing and is very loud. I like the middle part with first and violas and the ending coda was hard. The middle part when it slows down, it was very nice and also hard, best song ever!!!!!!
