Description
The CONCERTO FOR THREE HARPSICHORDS IN C, BWV 1064, is likely a transcription by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) of a lost work originally in D for three violins, now classified as BWV 1064R. Composed between 1735 and 1745, the work is similar to the CONCERTO FOR TWO VIOLINS (BWV 1043) and CONCERTO FOR TWO HARPSICHORDS (BWV 1062) in the relationship between the concertino groups and the ripieno group, and also in the cantabile slow movement. This Kalmus edition was edited by Paul Waldersee for the Bach-Gesellschaft Ausgabe (Bach Society Edition). Instrumentation: Soli harpsichords(3): Str (2.2.2.1.1 in set). Reprint edition.
