Description
As seen in the mind-boggling Trans-Siberian Orchestra stage show! This thought-provoking medley of Christmas tunes describes a lone performer playing Christmas carols in the midst of the Bosnian war. The piece reflects the power, drama, and hope of a single musician in the midst of war, reflecting on the power of music to bring hope. The rock rhythm section contributes to an intense and very hip musical experience. Perhaps this can inspire a field trip to see the band live with lights and effects. (3:15)

i had to play this piece in eighth grade (as a flute player) this piece is beautiful but is a living hell to play

This song is fundamentally easy, it truly is musicianship where it'll get ya. My band performs this over tempo (if you play this song in 1.25x, that's around the tempo we take it), just to keep it engaging to the audience. If you play this at this tempo, you better have clean articulations and incredible dynamic contrast otherwise the audience will get bored.

Got the xylophone, bells, and crotales part, so this has been a lifesaver!! Love this song!

I'm a French horn on this one. Just screaming the Carol of the Bells line is easily one of the best experiences I have had in 7 years of band.

My band had to learn this in less than a week. This is harder than when the band director changed the marching arrangements a week before Trussville (marching festival)

as a student from GPN HS we have been playing this for 3 years straight once every year at one of our concerts. it is amazing to play and hear the peoples reactions when we play. (i'm on tenor sax) everything about it is perfect for the ending of a show. Love it!

Wow we just got this as our finale for our winter concert. I'm a lonely first trombone. We only have two trombones and the other guy is on second. I don't even see him because of our wonky school set up this year. I get to meet him the day before the concert. Yay. 😂

I play trombone, and I love playing this! But I have to play so loud I almost pass out

i've been asking for four years to play this in my school's concert band and I am so glad that we finally are!!!!

we're playing it next Thursday (12/9) and the beginning band asked how we do it, since we're in advanced. (we learned in less than a week and a half)

This song is amazing. My band is playing it tonight. I'm the mallet percussion and chimes. No, not part of it. I am the entirety of what I just said. Hard as heck to play, but I've nailed it so far. Only tonight will tell if the practice paid off.

I'm currently playing the trumpet part on my tenor sax (my community band only has 4 people so we play different parts). It's really fun to play!

As a flute, I hate this song with a passion. We are playing it this year in band (I'm a freshman) and the scales at the end and the trilled high G make me want to jump off a cliff

The middle school and my high school did this (i was in middle school at the time) We went way faster than this and super loud as the finale

My band is doing this for our winter concert. I'm 1st flute and all those triplets near the end are hard
