When I was in middle school I was in the 7th grade jazz, the 8th grade jazz played this and I absolutely fell in love with the song first hearing it. I really wish I could have played it
as a bari i appreciate that we finally get appreciation for our work
I LOVE the trombone solo in the beginning. I'm playing it for my spring concert
As a pianist I LOVE THIS FREAKIN SONG and the small lil solos at the beginning are the best
Tenor 1 player. I have a solo that isn't featured in this recording!! Really tricky to learn, but this song is definitely the best jazz band song I've played this year.
dude this song is always making me dance while I play the solo!! i just can't help it
My High School band did this song so I saved it, I just heard it years later and I still love it
When i was in 8th grade i played this song and i was on 1st trumpet and it sort of motivated me to try out for Jazz orchestra (advanced jazz band) in highschool and though i thought i couldn't do it, i'm a 1st trumpet in our jazz orchestra and it's SO HARD! but i love it
I have such fond memories of playing this in middle school. Now that I'm coming back to it as someone who's about to go to college for jazz I realize how simple this song actually is. Other than the sax soli/break this song is very bare bones compared to other Latin charts I love today. I think this song was just easy enough for a middle school me to play and just catchy enough for a middle school me to love. I love this song.
I'm on vibes for this song so I'm just a trumpet double essentially but I play the cowbell at measure 81 :) I'm actually going to jazz practice as I type this lol
As an Alto sax player, this was one of the funnest things I've ever played, period. Key changes can be a bit difficult imo, but enough practice can easily help with that.
I had the tenor sax solo in this song it's for sure the most fun solo I have ever had😂 Edit: lil update, I've graduated high school and had so many better solos 🤣
