Description
Chautauqua West is a three movement work for 15 winds and two percussionists. It was written for and premiered by the professional St. Matthews chamber orchestra in Pacific Palisades, CA with the composer conducting. The Chautauqua Movement began near Buffalo, NY in 1874 and expanded across the country until it reached its last and most ambitious location on the West Coast in Pacific Palisades. This exciting new composition is a fresh approach to wind and percussion chamber music and a wonderful addition to the repertoire for advanced university and professional ensembles.
