Description
Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) began first writing choral works in 1860, when he became the conductor of a male choral group, the Frohsinn Society. Of the many choral works he wrote for that group, Bruckner's biographer Max Aner calls the Ave Maria "his first masterwork," and it premiered on May 12, 1861. This arrangement for intermediate band, replete with the original's transcendent harmonies and ethereal melodies, has been completed by Barbara Buehlman.
