this is my favourite piece I have ever done. playing it on the trumpet is such a fun experience. it may just be me but this wonderful musical creation sounds like something that would be in a war movie where troops are being deployed and are marching into battle.

I just played this at my winter concert and I played timpani, it was very very fun to play, especially the 7/8

played this sophomore year on tenor. my section nicknamed it "the bagpipe song" (for some reason the 6/8 portion sounded like bagpipes to us haha) but it was definitely one of the coolest winter concerts we've ever had

I remember playing this for the first time in band and we finished the sight read and our director asked if any of us had played this before (none of us had ever played this) because we sight read it beautifully and kept track of key changes and tempo changes. overall a fun sight read for me
