Description
Donald H. White based his Ambrosian Hymn Variants on the so-called Ambrosian plainchants, which are named after St. Ambrose and are the only surviving Roman Catholic chants outside the Gregorian tradition. The original name of the piece, prior to its 1974 publication, was Aeterna Christi munera (The Eternal Gifts of Christ the King).
