when us percussionists in the back read "add as many shakers/gourds as possible" we thought "I accept this challenge!" So now when we play it I hold two shakers, someone else holds two shakers, someone holds maracas, and someone holds the beaded gourd when he's not smashing cymbals and it sounds amazing
So many high notes for French horn and trumpets but super easy for trombones
I'm playing this at my Christmas concert and I play congas in this song and I love the song!
I played timpani for this and my eyes and wrist still hurt, and when I tell u my band director wanted me to be WAY louder than it already is for timpani, well I had to, and um I was really nervous cuz the whole band and audience was looking at me and percussion and I felt myself sweating on my hands and I was like "NO not TODAY HONEY" in the end i made them notes, crescendos and decrescendos the way my director told me to :')
I'm playing this, I'm Alto Sax and my sister is a Flute we practice this regularly :3
I'm a horn player and this piece made me practice high notes and it's one of my favorite songs because of that
Flute being a big part of the song: Me being one of the only 4 flute players: 🎶 All eyes are on youuu 👀 🎶
I play alto for this and it's awesome! My band is playing this for our band concert in December. And at the percussion break at measure 73 (the music sheet is a one pager), I'm resting for 16 measures. I could've gotten a nap in before coming back in.
I screwed up during performance at my solo, I'm the Congo. Can't even tell the difference between the high or low drum😂
I play French horn and this is one of the most fun pieces I've ever played!
My band played this for our concert a couple years back. This brings back memories! I was the main drum part
Best music ever played it at the Christmas concert I played it on the alto sax had a hard time until I played along with this video.
We're playing this for our December concert and it's easy for my trombone part, but the trumpets keep rushing during rehearsals
I play flute and every time we do that one measure with the slurring up I SUFFOCATE AND I HATE IT but I love this song so much :,)
I played this a year ago and I play percussion and I had to play the Timpani for this song and all I'm going to say is that I nailed it and we got first place 😮💨
This conga part is 👌👌👌👌 My band director doesn't know squat about percussion so she gave me (the best percussion) the timpani part and gave some average player who does band just because "it's easy" the conga part and we're good friends so we just switched and she doesn't even care.
As a person who plays flute my band in middle school played this and I loved how it sounded but I was sick and tired of it (I played the low flute part)
I'm playing this French horn part and measure 44 is so fun to play 😁
so as it turns out slamming really hard on a low tom for this is very therapeutic.
🎺🎺Hey, if you think trumpet 1's notes are high, try playing a high G above the staff. Not to mention in my band, there are only 3 trumpets, I am the only first, and the others are trumpet 2. So instead of fortissimo, it's fortississimo. Now THAT is a real challenge.🎺🎺
Playing for my Christmas concert! Who else plays trombone?
I play flute and I'm so glad we get a kinda main part where no other instruments are louder than us and you can actually hear us I'm so happy to play this for our band Christmas concert!!!
