Scrolled through the entire comment section and was disappointed that nobody has mentioned how amazing the Tubas are in this

As a 1st trombone, I absolutely loved this piece, especially when the bones duel the entire band!

just found out today that we playing this for our concert. as a tuba player i love that the low brass gets to start the whole thing lmao. it's funny bc we have marching season to finish and start veterans day music which is very anxiety inducing but also awesome bc i love stars and stripes and eternal father. i love concert band lol

In 1967 I played violin on this number with the Lafayette Indiana symphony. I fell in love with this and still am....at the age of 71. Leroy Anderson was a genious

3rd trombone was so good, sure it had a little bit less to it than 1&2, but those parts where we were just left with our own separate thing sounded so good.

As a percussionist whos depressed marching season ended, the God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen part made up for it

I just sight-read this today as first alto and even though we don't have the melody a lot, I love this piece

I love this song as a bass clarinet sm, I played it in freshman year when I kinda sucked and I wish I can play it again because I know I’ll eat it up

I've heard and played many a Christmas medley in my day, but this is without a doubt the best one I've ever heard. Every song is incorporated so naturally. Leroy Anderson knocked this thing out of the park.

Euphonium 2017-2019, this was our closer every year, my favorite.

I play the tuba in my local concert band and this tune is one of my absolute favorites to perform. I even played it at a concert today!

Our tubas will play the beginning of it the moment Halloween is over “we just hear “JOY TO THE WORLD” from the tubas and the whole band is like “not yet guys.”

Played this earlier this year (2nd trombone), we altered the ending to resemble Shostakovich's "Festive Overture", best decision my band director's ever made!

I played the trumpet tuti with my friend and we changed the Rythm in measure 142 in corner to: | 1 la lee 2 and |. Aswell as in measure 149 to: | 1 trip L let and |. (with the triplet starting on the and of 1). It adds variety and style with the tripple tounge there. If you play the tuti there I recommend this if you can tripple tongue!

Playing Horn 1 on this was an absolute blast essentially playing the bell eighth notes in jingle bell since we didn’t play there was so much fun

I played this in 8th grade on oboe, and again in high school on flute 1 and 2.

as a flute, 186 makes me want to chuck my music stand halfway across the room and leave.
