Description
Perdido is one of the simplest and most performed jazz tunes in the canon. This is Ellington's original arrangement from 1942, but transcribed from a 1959 recording featuring a faster tempo and an extended solo by Clark Terry on flugelhorn. The figures are simple and repetitious and ¬easy to memorize, so the students' attention can be directed to the groove.
