The Summer Jazz Institute 2026

A two-day workshop for all instrumental music educators who would like to learn more about:

• Large and Small Ensemble Rehearsal Techniques
• Rhythm Section Fundamentals
• Program and Culture Development
• Instrument Specific Pedagogy

• Repertoire Development
• Beginning and Intermediate Improvisation
• Sound System Management and Recording Techniques
• Faculty-Led Combo and Big Band Rehearsals

The CAJ/SCSBOA Summer Jazz Institute is for any music educator (or future music educator) who wants to gain practical tools and techniques to address all areas of jazz education and learn from some of the most accomplished artist/educators around. This year's faculty will include:
