Mike Dana

Composer, educator, and guitarist Mike Dana is currently a faculty member of Jazz Education Abroad, performing and teaching in Lebanon, Cyprus, China, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Previously, he was Director of Jazz Studies at Fresno City College. His compositions, published by Alfred Music, Kendor, Jazzlines, UNC Jazz Press, and Heritage Music Press are performed throughout the world. Recent commissions include charts for the for the 2019 JEN Conference, the Taipei Jazz Orchestra, Azusa Pacific University, Santa Cruz High Scholl, and many more. Mike’s guitar credits include performances with Cannonball Adderley, Gary Burton, Robin Eubanks, Antonio Hart, Ingrid Jensenr, Bob Mintzer, Bobby Shew, Ernie Watts, and as a U.S. State Department Cultural Envoy to Thailand as part of the Allison Miller Quartet. Mike was recently selected as California Jazz Educator of the Year, and inducted into the California Alliance for Jazz Hall of Fame.
