Lynne Cox
Lynne Craige Cox enjoyed a career teaching music for forty-three years. A native of Marion, SC, she now resides in New Bern, NCÂ with her husband, Jerry, and Yorkie, Adagio. They have two sons, two daughters-in-law, a grandson, and two granddaughters.
She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from East Carolina University and a Certification in Public School Music from the same institution.
She was a State Finalist for the Sarah Belk Gambrell Award in 2003 for Excellence in Public School Music, recipient of the 2005 Distinguished Alumni Award by the School of Music at East Carolina University, and a 2007 Fulbright Scholar.
She has over 45 years of music teaching experience (20 in public schools, 25 in private piano) with State and National certification from MTNA, and served as a church musician for 43 yrs. She has been an active member of MTNA, VMTA, NCMTA, RMTA, and the St. Cecelia Music Club of eastern North Carolina.
